Antananarivo, August 8, 2025 — The Finance and Investment Committee of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) met today in Antananarivo, chaired by Mr. Andry RAMANAMPANOHARANA, Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Madagascar.
This committee is one of the sectoral and aggregated ministerial bodies of the Organization. It is responsible for overseeing regional activities in the strategic areas of finance and investment, with a view to strengthening economic integration within the region. Its main missions include:
- monitoring the implementation of the Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP) in the financial and investment sectors;
- formulating strategic recommendations to the SADC Council of Ministers on economic and financial matters;
- coordinating and monitoring the implementation of regional financial sector programs.
The Committee’s work is part of the preparatory meetings for the 45th Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government, scheduled for August 17-18, 2025, in Antananarivo. This meeting demonstrates the commitment of Member States to work together to promote macroeconomic stability, stimulate investment, and accelerate sustainable development in the region.
