Antananarivo, August 4-5, 2025 \u2013 Preparatory work for the 45th Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government officially began in the Malagasy capital with the holding of a meeting of senior officials and experts from Member States to review the Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP 2020-2030).<\/p>\n
For two days, delegates focused on this regional roadmap, a strategic compass aimed at promoting sustainable, inclusive, and integrated development within the Southern African Development Community. The discussions focused on progress made, ongoing challenges, and the outlook for 2030.<\/p>\n
The Malagasy delegation, led by Mr. Eric Ratsimbazaffy, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, actively participated in the discussions, affirming Madagascar’s commitment to fully contributing to the realization of regional ambitions.<\/p>\n
This meeting marks a key step in the preparatory process for the 45th SADC Summit, scheduled for August 17, 2025, in Antananarivo, and is in line with this year’s theme:<\/p>\n
“Promoting industrialization, agricultural transformation, and energy transition for a resilient SADC.”<\/strong><\/p>\n This theme reflects not only the collective aspirations of member countries, but also the convergence between SADC Vision 2050, the RISDP 2020-2030, and Madagascar’s national development priorities.<\/p>\n The decisions resulting from these discussions will outline the region’s future.
